Jeremy Makin's memories

My last memories of Gary are a bunch of us sitting on a rock sunning ourselves on our Gorge walking away day having a laugh about everyone jumping off the waterfall into the pool below.
Everyone commented on how Gary’s jumps were perfect in execution while most of us jumped off waving our arms and legs in the air looking ridiculous. Gary just calmly walked to the edge, looked over, stepped off, made no splash and strolled out the other side. No fuss.

This is pretty much how I remember Gary in work; he got difficult issues resolved without any fuss, no screaming or shouting, just calm, getting very complex problems completed with no bother. I always knew I could turn to Gary for any technical problems I was stuck with. He was always more than happy to help and always had the answer. He was regarded as the expert in his field and everyone turned to him for help. I always admired his laid back manner and the way he calmly and thoughtfully went about doing things.

I’m going to try and remember that about him and try and see if I can get anywhere near it myself. I doubt it.
